Admiral Group Plc - Tech Recruitment

Admiral Group Plc

The Brief

We have had a great relationship with Admiral in making multiple short form films highlighting company culture, different avenues of work and recruitment films in order to demonstrate that they are more than just an insurance company but a place where people can really thrive in what they do. Throughout our projects with Admiral, they have stressed that “people that like what they do, do it better” and we have constantly looked to put this message at the heart of our videos.

In this film we focused on Admiral’s tech recruitment and how they are looking to provide opportunities to help the business grow and be better equipped to serve customers and give the staff the resources required to do the job successfully.

Technology is playing an ever more crucial role in the world and workplaces are looking to do more to adapt. At Stori Cymru we have done previous work on how adopting modern technology has had a huge bonus on some businesses and was a necessary change that has improved them for the future. Examples of this include the Swansea Bay City Deal and how modern technology is having a huge impact in South Wales.

The Process

In the film we emphasised what exactly Admiral are doing in the technology sector in a wide range of forms and how the business sees advancements in technology as crucial in order for staff to continue being successful as well as keeping existing staff and bringing new staff into the company.

We also documented how the business has looked to diversify as a result of advancements in technology. By doing this there are more roles opening up and even existing staff look to try new roles through an interest in technology as well as the high-quality training that Admiral provide for every job.

One of our core principles at Stori Cymru is the human factor and how being able to connect in a personal sense as well as a professional sense. In our film, many of those we spoke to emphasised how crucial the human factor is in the success of Admiral. Culture is a huge role behind the success of the company and that the human touch is crucial to any successful business. There are also a variety of ways to work which many have found beneficial as we were able to include Lanie’s story and how she found Admiral’s hybrid working beneficial and that she’s been able to enjoy a healthy work/life balance as a result.

From speaking to principal engineer Andrew Jones, he was keen to state that he felt Admiral really stood out from the competition due to its committed attitude towards technology and its established reputation as an employer. From previous experience, he felt as if other companies were “on the cutting edge” and that Admiral were a great fit in order for him to develop at the company.

Many other colleagues emphasised how approachable everyone is and Admiral as a company feels very united to making the company an inclusive place for all to work.

The Result

Due to the range of different perspectives that we gathered, the film highlighted every key aspect about Admiral’s culture and how this translates into the workplace.

From the amount of different people that we interviewed and a range of different shots that reflected the workplace environment, this made the film very successful for both Admiral and us at Stori Cymru.

The interviews were crucial to capturing the effect that a positive working environment can have on staff and where each of them were hugely supportive over what bought them to the company in the first place as well as how they have found their time at Admiral.

This was a very successful project for all involved. For more brand story films do check some of our other high projects on the Stori Cymru website.
