The Brief

We were asked to create some short films for NFU Mutual highlighting some of their clients and the relationships that they have established as a result of their approach to managing risk, cyber threats and property.

NFU Mutual are an insurance company that are owned by its members and provide insurance and financial support packages to businesses. As a result of their positive work in the industry, they have developed a strong reputation and we managed to do a short video with some of their closest partners about how working with NFU Mutual has been crucial to letting them handle the business element leaving NFU Mutual to handle any risks associated.

Castell Howell

One of the companies that we were able to demonstrate the positive impact that NFU Mutual have had was Castell Howell, a family run business and have become one of the largest food suppliers in Wales with a strong reputation in customer service. Castell Howell are one of the largest employers in the country with 900+ employees. The company’s well-run systems are helped made possible by NFU Mutual as they have offered Castell Howell crucial support in managing risks by preventing cyber-attacks as well as transport and property issues. With NFU Mutual looking after these issues, this allows Castell Howell to look after the day to day running of the business.

Sigma3 Kitchens and Bathrooms

We also completed another film with Sigma3 kitchens and bedrooms where company chairman Brian Lakin explained about how working with NFU Mutual has helped his business function and by having NFU cover all insurances this has allowed him to focus on running the business. Lakin also stated that NFU mutual have been very supportive of the business and that they are offering advice on what the business can do to minimize risk that has worked successfully for both.

The Result

In our videos we emphasised NFU Mutual’s core value of business responsibility which is mirrored by the company strategy of “protecting rural lives and livelihoods, building a healthy working community, caring for the environment and doing business the right way”

From our films we achieved the main aim of explaining how much easier business owners have found working with NFU mutual and how they are consistently able to adapt and improve how they can operate. When we spoke to both Martin and Brian, they were highly complementary of the security that they have provided their business and how their businesses have been positively affected by NFU Mutual.

This project stood out for us due to the personal touch that NFU Mutual put on looking after business. In addition, companies such as Castell Howell and Sigma3 are companies that have a deep connection with their community with a strong emphasis on how much they and NFU Mutual value local service. NFU Mutual have really looked to push the authenticity behind the brand. On their website, NFU Mutual’s Talent Attraction Specialist Siobhan McKenna touched on why storytelling is crucial to attracting young people to the company and by doing this they have been able to incorporate storytelling into their work. This value strongly aligned with Stori Cymru’s core principle of storytelling and putting it at the heart of your business.

It was crucial for us to get the message out that NFU Mutual want to look after you as well as your business and that by trusting them you can just focus on how your business operates and eliminate any potential stress that can arise.
