Osprey Engineering

The Brief

We were approached by Osprey Engineering to make a case study on their project in partnership with Hale Construction on Devonshire Place in Port Talbot. Osprey Engineering were looking to establish a strong connection with another firm and felt that the success of this project contributed to establishing this connection significantly.

In the film Osprey Engineering we looking to highlight the success of this project in regards to working with firms, project delivery and impact on the community. Many of the team were happy to speak on camera about the success of the project.

The Process

From our interviews with Hale Construction there was a clear view that they judged the partnership with Osprey Engineering to be a success with Hale Site Manager Scott Boobier stating that: “From a site manager’s point of view, you ask a sub-contractor to do something and they do it, it’s amazing” Osprey have been keen to drive home the straightforward nature of the brand and this was generally picked up on throughout the process.

There were also lots of personal stories we could highlight as part of the project with Matt Rees documenting the story of Lucas, an apprentice that Osprey had taken on and how he had attended the old school that was being demolished to make way for the new housing going on the plot. We also spoke to Dionne Herbert of Hale and she touched on how they had given an opportunity to a young woman called Elanwen who had joined them on a four -month scheme to learn about the industry and establish some experience in the field.

The interviews were hugely successful for us as we gained numerous different insights as to why collaboration on the project worked so well. In addition to the interviews, we also managed to capture some of the employees at work as well as key figures on the project supervising the site and managed to get some drone footage of the work being done.

This project has been vital for Osprey with the firm picking up further jobs with Hale adding to the credibility of the company in the sector. One example being a job that Osprey have done in Merthyr Tydfil alongside Hale.

The Result

Both of us were delighted with the film having provided a great balance of what Osprey are about brand. The interviews with both Scott and Dionne were crucial from a business perspective as we gathered how the partnership was great from their side to increase Osprey’s credibility as a brand.

We felt that Osprey would stand out was the sense of authenticity that we gathered from Osprey made them a very good client to work with. The stories that we were able to gather about connections and opportunities for people looking to break into the industry is a value that we at Stori Cymru find very important in the today’s world. Being able to teach people and help develop skills is a strong value of ours and with Osprey sharing that commitment we were able to work together effectively on this film.

If you have a case study video that you would like to be able to demonstrate, get in touch with us at Stori Cymru to see what we can offer your brand.
