The Brief

We created a series of short films for Victorian Sliders about what the business are doing to become more environmentally friendly and how the business operates in this manner. In addition, we created a video explaining the process of unit production and demonstrate how efficiently the company are able to run as a result.

Victorian Sliders are a South Wales based window manufacturing company that specialize in PVC-U sash window manufacturing and creators of ECOslide windows. ECOslide windows are PVC-U vertical sliding sash windows which offer a combination of both classic Victorian and modern styles.

Victorian Sliders are also a market leader in the manufacturing of PVC-U sash windows and their high-quality workforce supply goods to several areas and businesses across the UK.

The Process

We demonstrated what the company are doing to become more environmentally friendly. One example of this is that PVC-U recycling is eco-friendly. Statistics demonstrate how the company have managed to slash landfill by 75% by following this eco-friendlier process. To extend further, ECOslide windows manufactured by Victorian Sliders are now being used with 33% recycled PVC-U. Due to this process the company have managed to bring new life to over 30,000 tonnes of PVC-U due to recycling.

There is also an economical benefit too with the company stating that it is both more energy efficient and less expensive to recycle PVC-U than it is to create new PVC-U. The company also stress that with much of the industry moving to PVC-U over aluminium, steel and timber.

Waste reduction is also a major reason as to why the company are operating in an eco-friendlier nature. On Victorian Sliders website they point to research by WWF that showed that “an estimated 83% of waste PVC-U ends up in landfill”

In our first video we highlighted the process at the recycling centre and how the steps they are taking are beneficial for the environment and the economy. We managed to help educate people through these videos by explaining these benefits and provided facts and statistics to back up why it’s a good thing that the company has taken these steps. We highlighted some of the machinery behind the process of recycling PVC-U and how they are using it to their benefit.

In our second video we focused on how the company operates and the steps that they have taken do develop efficiency in in unit production and that there are several steps to ensuring productivity. We showed examples of the latest machinery that the company is using such as the oven used to produce units and spacer application line which has seen the company create high quality units.

The Result

A big part of our brand ethos here at Stori Cymru is how your brand resonates with the public and that to be successful you have to have a story to tell and not just a business. One of the main reasons why Victorian Sliders’ story appealed to us was the commitment to doing their bit in the fight against climate change and also by going into detail explaining why and how the business is doing this.

Combining both brand story and business is a crucial tool in marketing and one that has become extremely popular over time. In our series of short films, we successfully captured what the company was all about form both a brand story and business perspective and we were able to demonstrate both business operation and the objectives of the brand to a high level of accuracy.
